Clay Oven
Tandoori breads, marinated platters, and spiced skewers fired the old way.
Our Story
The Green Dragon brings together the ease of an old St Albans public house and the depth, texture, and warmth of a modern Himalayan kitchen.

The Story
The Green Dragon has stood beside the River Ver on Waterside for generations - a weathered, friendly place where St Albans locals, walkers, and weekend diners have long found a warm fire and a proper pint. The building wears its history quietly; you can feel it in the low beams, the soft light near the river, and the view outside.
Today this familiar room moves in a new direction. Our kitchen is led by chefs from Nepal and India, bringing aromatic spice, thoughtful balance, and slow-cooked depth to every plate.
“Two traditions of hospitality, one riverside table.”
Tandoori breads, marinated platters, and spiced skewers fired the old way.
Hand-folded momos, house chutney, and Himalayan warmth in every plate.
A lively pub list with craft pours and easy comfort by the river.
Make an Evening of It
Whether you arrive for a quiet pint, a long lunch, or full riverside dinner, The Green Dragon is built for warm service and food worth coming back for.
